At Pumpkins your child will be supported to learn and develop through experiences that stimulate his or her sense of exploration and discovery and that are fun and memorable.
The important thing is what he or she will bring home in their mind not in their hand!
As with every Early Years setting, at Pumpkins we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage to guide the learning and development of your child.
In their first three years we are concentrating on 3 main areas :
- Personal Social and Emotional Development (Read more - link to emotional development)
- Communication and Language Development (Read more - link to Communication and Language development)
- Physical Development (Read more - Link to Physical Development)
Once your child moves into the pre-school room they can expect to expand on these 3 main areas into developing their understanding of :
- The world that they live in
- Creativity and Imagination
In order to learn your child needs to feel secure and happy and so they will receive a dedicated key person to take care of them whilst they are with us. Your key person will provide the vital link between nursery and home and ensure that your child receives their best attention.

A home from home caring approach
Building strong relationships with our parents is very important to us and you can expect us to support you in this phase of your child’s life as well as care for your child. You will be welcome into the nursery at the start of your day to settle your child and at the end of the day to talk to staff about what they have been doing. We also welcome visits from parents to share special skills, read stories or support our activity mornings that run frequently through the year.
