PRE-SCHOOL - BADMINTON

  • For children aged two and a half to five years.

  • The room is laid out to provide for quieter activities as well as free play.  A home corner allows opportunity for role play and imaginative play, and a reading corner encourages children to read to themselves as well as with others.

  • A sand or water table is always available and wall easels allow free painting at any time.

  • Free access to the craft trolley enables children to develop their creative skills by selecting their own resources and materials.

  • In pre-school children develop independence in a supportive environment that prepares them for the forthcoming transition to school.

  • Nursery Education Grant funded and sessional term time only places available.

Toddler Room - Badminton
  • For children aged between one and two and a half years old.

  • The open carpeted space allows this age group the facility to develop or refine recently acquired mobility skills and our equipment allows them to do this safely and with little intervention.

  • Heuristic play allows the children to learn about the world around them through experimentation and exploration and through stimulation of all five senses.

  • Play activities which develop communication skills are also important at this stage, enabling them to grow in confidence. As well as sharing books and stories, songs and rhymes are an essential part of their developing language skills.

  • Soft play equipment provides the opportunity for the children to develop their physical skills as they climb, clamber, slide and balance in a safe environment.

  • Creative activities are planned each day and children have the opportunity to develop their skills of using tools and their imaginations.
