General Manager and Owner
Amanda Wallis BA (Hons) DPP EYPS

Pumpkins Nursery is owned and managed by Amanda Wallis. Amanda gained a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology from the University College of North Wales where she studied Education as a subsidiary subject. Her career then took a side step into Human Resources where she worked for over twelve years in both the public and the private sectors. Taking time off to raise her family, Amanda then undertook a further course of study to gain the Diploma in Pre-school Practice, a recognised level 3 qualification for early years teaching. Amanda achieved Early Years Professional Status in August 2007 from the University of the West of England.

Amanda has worked with children for many years, both in playgroups and through running her own successful childminding business which was part of the South Gloucestershire “Children Come First” Childminding Network quality assurance scheme. With a proven track record in the delivery of high quality care and education of young children, Amanda has also been heavily involved in community work with children, running activity clubs and also the highly popular “Tiny Tunes” music group at Trinity School, Acton Turville. Amanda lives in Malmesbury and is married to Ian and has three, now grown up children, Ryan, Claudia and Dominic.

Emma Bennett  NVQ Level 3

Emma - Our Sherston Pre-School Manager

Emma has over 9 years experience of working in Early Years. Previously working in an Area Manager role for a group of nurseries in South Gloucestershire and Bristol, Emma made the decision to return to work directly with the children and ensure that they are at the forefront in all that she does. She is extremely passionate about childcare and champions the individual in each and every child. She strives to give each child the best possible start to their journey and finds it highly rewarding seeing the impact that our roles have on children’s development.

Emma is recently married to James and lives in Frampton Cotterell.

Emma is currently on maternity leave having just had her first baby, a little boy, born in December 2020.

Our Deputy Manager Charlotte Collings is ably managing the nursery until Emma’s return, supported by Lauren Kiddell who has been promoted to Deputy Manager.
